I have these too. The booklet is hilarious

I love how you pick your cards. Just throw them in the air.😂

The tunnel, the sea, the effigy, the burning head, the blue dog and the stones can fuck right off.

I need these cards.

Ok, you're getting them typed out because substack will only allow pictures in some places. Apparently. Any typos are entirely the fault of Mr. Gorey.

The Effigy: August, a sexual problem, assailed honor, unpleasant secrets, amnesia, broken hopes, a misalliance, rashness, yaws, clouded mentality, abrasions, financial losses, an accident in a stadium

The Sea: January, wasting, loss of ears, an accident in an elevator, lurching sickness, cracks, false affection, vapors, a secret enemy, misdirection, demons, estrangement, chagrin.

The Burning Head: Sunday, bafflement, loss of saliva, a forged deed, an impasse, extradition, a boating accident, chilblains, delayed desires, wandering sickness, evil companions, an impediment, despondency

The Tunnel: Monday, sexual disturbance, a swindle, loss of wits, diseases of the blood, angst, false trust, an irrational project, an unpleasant discovery, bad luck, an execution, boredom, panic.

I love this. Matching the pictures to the descriptions evoke an even more powerful feeling of woe.

Also, the tunnel may have just inspired a new logo idea for Macabre Mondays official Substack that I'm making.

Very excited to see that logo! How cool!

I'm curious to why the one has no caption. That kinda bugs me. LOL

Ah, a terrifying figure indeed. Can’t post a pic here (weird), but it is called The Black Doll and says only “What most you fear/ Is coming near”

I'd rather it stay far away, thankyouverymuch!

It's awesome.

I'm sure Honeygloom is being tongue-in-cheek, but "Groeda Weyrd" is an anagram for "Edward Gorey."

Honeygloom's avatar

I actually didn’t make it up, there’s a whole preamble to the card meanings talking all about Mm. Weyrd and how terrifying she is. It’s really funny.

I thought it might be too many pics, but I’ll post the whole intro later.

These are exquisite! ✨🕸️ Thank you so much for sharing them with us. God, I love Edward Gorey. He was truly fabulous.

I have only played that a few times with friends. We never ended up finishing our campaign, but I think I’d prefer being the DM to just playing.

Did you make a playlist for them? I have a friend who does that with bards.
