The pulse of wing beats
Over a hushed battlefield
The dead await fate
They landed on battlefields to choose the fiercest slain warriors to live in Freyja’s hall, Folkvangr and in Odin’s hall, Valhalla.
I went out fighting
but Valkyries passed me by.
No Valhalla for me
though I lie embraced
with sword in my adversary's guts.
