Regardless of her origin, she was murdered by Perseus, but her head could still people to stone by looking at it, so he used it as a weapon.
I guess then, depending on her origin, she might have been either happy, or sad about that.

Vengeance turns 2 stone.
In the moonlit dark,
Gorgon’s gaze forever waits—
Whispers: of the past.
