Starlight on the road—

Five points where paths cross, whispers

Jazz in every step.

Night whispers secrets,

Five lines drawn in the sand—gone

With dawn’s first light.

In a diner’s glow,

Coffee rings as pentagrams—

Magic in mundane.

Beat feet on pavement,

Each step a point of the star—

Life’s map, unfolding.

Old records spinning,

Notes like stars in a circle—

Dance in their light.

These are so good! I love the coffee rings the most I think. It’s such a cool image.

Protects from evil

If scribed appropriately;

No gaps in the lines!

But what protects you from good? That’s what I always want to know…

I just wrote that because people assume pentagrams are for evil; actually they are a ward AGAINST evil...

An upright one, yes, as the top point of the star points to God. That said, pentagrams have been used in many cultures throughout history, so meanings are gonna vary.

Upside down it’s a different thing entirely as you have the head of the star pointing to Hell. However, an inverted pentagram doesn’t really have just one meaning either. If you ask a Laveyan Satanist, it’s just a reminder to invert the perceived norm of believing in a higher power, and believe in yourself instead. Someone following the left hand path might have a different interpretation.

Symbols, especially magic symbols, rarely just mean one thing, and have usually changed meanings over time.

Thank you coming to my totally pointless Ted Talk😜

I love your haiku’s! I always learn something new! Is this the singer you’re referencing? I’m going to have to give them a listen when I get off work.

She's a domme with who runs an SM bar in Korea.

Ah! It’s the name of a pop star, too. I gotta remember your framing. Just curious, does the pentagram have any different meaning in Korea?

I think it's the same meaning. Taemin the domme calls herself a "sadistic witch" and has a lot of witchy elements at her bar.

Your piece had a positive effect on me. And here I was struggling to come up with something and ended up with something dark. Good one.

Ah yes, good old St. Pete’s Cross. I mean, to be fair he just handed evildoers their argument for flipping Christian symbols upside down🤦‍♀️
