I love this club. Firstly, it's amazing that you come up with a daily haiku and secondly, you manage to hook other people on to them. It's amazing. Thank you for doing this.
I really like this!! ‘Flip flop’ made me think of shoes which then gave this a whole modern take that was very pleasantly de-centering… I hope that made sense 😂

Aw thank you! I started it on a whim and figured it would fizzle, but people are surprisingly into scary haiku🤷♀️
I couldn't agree more!
"My name is not Ariel..."
They call me Stacey..
Radiant creature
Learned to walk on sharpened knives
For one not worthy
Yes! I love the last line! Your haiku really sums up so succinctly the tone of the story🖤
Nice one, Ken!
My favorite one yet!
Each step was sword's edge
Bleeding soles and bleeding soul
Love lost leads her home
So tragic! I love the middle line so much, tying her physical pain and emotional pain together is so effective🖤
Thank you. That story is one of my faves (the original, not the mishmash Disney made of it).
Disney does not seem to be popular around here😂
Geeeee … wonder why … Har!
Lost tail, dancer’s flukes
Flip flop foolish heart beaten
Harpooned flails.

Yes a dying last call of a fish out of water. Or a diver into a pool flip flops. Rubber sandals like sand dials sifting end of time.
Every sea foam fleck
Were scales on your mermaid’s tail
Mournful dirge on waves
Oh🥺 That’s so gut wrenching. Really lovely detail🖤
Thank you for this nice prompt. I love H. C. Andersen. Lovely haiku too Honeygloom
His stories are so amazing! I always prefer them to Disney.
And thank you 😊
This is not Disney
My sacrifice foolhardy
Ashamed, to foam, I die
You really get to the meat of it quickly and so effectively, well done🖤
But did it have the song Under The Sea??
Little known fact is that Hand Christian Andersen and Walt Disney ARE THE SAME GUY!!! Cryogenics is muuuch more advanced than they’re letting on…🤔
🤣
Oooh! That got dark!
It’s such a sad story! She does eventually become a light spirit, I think, but only after so much suffering.
It is very sad, but I also prefer them over Disney's super sanitized versions. I hate happy endings.
This fake precious love
Surrender the illusion
Pierced right through-you're free
Wow, this powerful! Maybe this is how she reasoned her final moment, well done🖤
