September 11 - Lord of the Harvest
We sail the seasons
Crossing fields, guided by stars,
So why call him “lord”?
This is so good! I love the imagery pitting feudal system against the entire universe, so cool🖤
Sweep strong and sweep strong
and reap the wheat beneath -
the lord's, never yours
___
Jacques Scytheman, think now -
until you drive your scythe
into the lord's eye...
Gathering for lords
is one thing, sure... better
gather for yourself
Tbh I had completely forgotten that was a general name for a revolt. But I definitely recall the peasant revolt during the 100 Years’ War. I guess you don’t have to be good at reading the room when you can just destroy it later. Ahem.. Charles V🙄
Love these! I’m especially fond of Jacques Scytheman, a true folk hero🖤
I'm sure you know a peasant uprising in France was known as a Jacquerie, so this is my tribute to those doomed heroes
Empty, hearth-black fields
Where the flames reaped too quickly.
Lead us now, in grief.
Oh nice take! I didn’t even think of fire 🔥 Well done🖤
Making sure the food,
Never ran out, he was the,
Hero of the town... 😎
Very true! Nice! It was a pretty important role 🖤
Thanks! 😎👍
Couple months' progress
culminates in one person's
harvest of it all
Beautiful look at the seeming inequality of the harvest system🖤
One Lord in my life
His harvest will be soon as
He comes to reap earth 🌎
Ooo so dark and foreboding🖤
The Harvest lord laid down ;
A sigh (scythe) was heard to rest.
It was time for lunch
Love this, what a beautiful little moment🖤
Nap time. Thanks.
