Haiku, inspired by Richard Wright's poignant style:

Beneath the still moon,

Black horse emerges, cloaked in

Lonely hunger pangs.

.

Ripples betray him,

His mane flickers with despair—

Nature’s cruel decree.

.

Autumn wind whispers,

He answers in low echoes,

A friendless feast calls.

So haunting and beautiful, I can see this play out in my mind.🖤

I love the lines "lonely hunger pangs" and "a friendless feast calls" - so poetic and ominous🖤

Kelpie oiled and slick

Black reflection in full moonlights

Slip into bubbles to bathe

Imagined waiting washed delight.

Gorgeous imagery as usual❤️🖤

And your poem beneath the same moon, hunger pains rise; pool ripples to manes unfurled with gnashing, neighs that behooves the unwary quarry drowned in negligent nightmares.

Moon casts silver paths,

stirring shadows into life—

neighs slice the still air.

Beasts of legend roam tonight,

preying on the dreams of men.

for sweet flesh, the bones picked clean

do not waste the dead

With cross-stamped halter

I bind the loch's own kelpie

To carry the stones

My mom made me watch that movie. I remember nothing about it other than I hated it😂 I wish I remembered why.
