The sun’s hot fingers
Rake across squishy eyeballs
Scorching tender flesh
Well you can. The sun cares nothing for the windows of the soul.
Snowblind, numbed by frost
on this silent plain. Raw sense of pain
and fear now all I have to trust in
A tender white globe
Touched by invisible fire
Turns red, painful, raw
