I don’t think it’s apparent at all, this poem is great. It’s a moment captured in detail, and that is poetry, but it’s also more than that because it hints at a larger story, which I personally think is cool.
Huh...I just thought of a vampire getting vaporized by sunlight...it wasn't intentional!😂 To be honest I was just trying to figure out where I could fit "nosferatu" into the form...😁
Black eyes like the night
Her perfume is a poison
From her well, I drink
Foreboding and dark, love it!
What’s more hexing than feminine beauty?
A plant sale... but that’s probably just me😅
😂

We joke about it
“He’s putting a hex on us”
But he’s not laughing.
Very cool, there’s a whole story in here. Made me wonder what the context here is and I love when short poems can do that.
Precious crystal ball,
Show me the face of the one
Who stole my daughter.
This one could also be in the the micro fiction category. Nice concise use of narrative.
Thanks! I was just thinking it’s more of a prose poem or micro-micro story, haha. I’m not a poet by nature, as I suppose is apparent.
Begging for release
He kneels broken desperate
Curse tightens its hold
There’s a nice juxtaposition in here between release and tightening. You got me feeling a little unmoored and I like it.
Dawnlight shining bright
Burning, smoke rising, making
Nosferatu dust
Nice! Love the contrast between first and last lines, life and death. Very cool.

I’m glad you succeeded because now I really want to write Nosferatu dust into a story somewhere as like a potion ingredient or something.
Awesome!
“Eye of newt, virgin’s bust; ancient Nosferatu dust…”😂
“You’re so hexy” 😂 I love it.
