Thanks so much! It was inspired by my favourite thing I learned about the ahuizotl, which is that after the eyes teeth and nails had been clawed out, the bodies would float to the surface. But they were considered too sacred for an ordinary person to touch, and only the priests were allowed to pull them out of the water.
Ayhuasca Ahuizol abomination
A reeled in slippery sensation
An algae Aztecs net from boats
But surprise , devours their eyes ,
Hands down, tail, nails, teeth begone.
Wild one! Never done ayhuasca myself, but this feels appropriate🖤
I ‘m not sure Aztecs used either. But the monster seemed right out of hallucination.
A bad, bad hallucination😂
Below, silence reigns
Digits sway like flowing weeds
Dream of stolen eyes
Oh man🫠 That is quite an image. Well done🖤
Something new again to learn, I love it. I did not know about this! What a haunting haiku!
This was a new one for me too! I love finding new beasties!
The bodies are pure
Those that rise to the surface
Hollowed out, made whole
Oh wow, that last line really cuts, I love the implication that what’s inside is impure somehow. Really cool🖤

This is a case when wanting to help is the cause of one's tragedy. Or put this way, " When curiosity killed the cat, so to speak"
Definitely how I’m going to die😅
"Help! I'm blind and toothless with no fingernails! The Ahuizotl got me!"
Very strange fate indeed 🤔
I personally love five-handed apes so I don’t even know what you’re worried about.🤔
All the chain-linked fence
Is crawling with five-handed
apes. There’s no escape.
Putting you down as a “no” for the field trip.✅
But you said no thanks. If you’re going to be cryptic, I need the code.
