May 3 - Scylla
Kelp yelping. Human
Dog howling. Flesh-colored coughed-
Up kibble on shore.
That is quite an image. I really love getting grossed out by poetry🖤😌
Myths be deranged. Two rocks rose,
Change forms. Scylla/Charybdis dwell.
Demons to mariners demise.
Toss sailor’s ships frying pans
Into hells fire gate.
This is kinda wild rhythmically, like the scene between Scylla and Charybdis must be. I really like it🖤
Okay: so Scylla is a woman with dogs growing from her legs, and Charybdis must be that whirlpool like-thing. Right?
The Scylla I wrote about in this story, on the other hand, dislikes dogs (or at least, one superpowered one): https://davidperlmutter.substack.com/p/game-night
You are correct ✅
That was quite a story! Pretty wild night of cards!
Yes, ‘course, I’d love to!
I’ll feed your dogs when you’re gone.
Don’t be so Scylla.
😂 Very good indeed. And now I get to picture what Scylla being gone from her dogs looks like😊
Just an arrow's shot
From devouring death or drowning;
Scylla, I choose thee.
That’s excellent phrasing! You make telling a whole story in a haiku seem very effortless🖤
Really? Wow, thanks...that's a huge compliment!
😊
I mean, not the jealousy part...the part about my poetry skills!😂
I knew what you meant, no worries 😌
Oh I am crazy jealous of your poetry skills!
Wow! That really means a lot to me!
Thank you for reading.
☺️
Yes🙌 This is such fierce, boss lady image🖤
I love “forced to feed her legs”! So creepy and awful and wonderful all at once 💙
Pluck them one by one
He whom tries to chain the sea
Mama’s gotta eat
