So sorry to hear about your rent! Your post is like a staple on the Stack for me. Keeping you in my thoughts and sending good wishes your way. ππΌππΌπ«ΆπΌβ¨
Though I have been absent of late, I truly love the Horror Haiku Club and will miss the daily inspiration. I hope youβll hang onto the handle and just post every now and again to update us on your store and maybe share a scary poem! Speaking of stores, I couldnβt resist the bog moss necklace and ordered it!
Oh my frigging goodness! Another victim of our economy (another guy lost his job, and I see others talking about the "joys" - NOT! - of job interviews). Not sure if leaving California is an option for you. Hubby and I left years ago. Getting worse there by the day. Wishing you the best, and thanks for all the joy you have spread with those haiku prompts. I don't always have something to contribute haiku-wise, but I always appreciate them.
I wish I could leave Cali, but my sonβs dad wonβt, and I absolutely wonβt go anywhere without my son soβ¦ stuck for the time being. But itβs ok! I just have like four jobsπ No big dealπ
This stinks. I really enjoyed putting some thought into your prompts; especially with the research that you put into them. Also reading all the other people's responses is inspiring too.
Iβm going to leave the tab up on my main page, so you can always work backwards to catch the prompts you missed early on. There are 365 days worth, so you should have something to work withπ
I truly hope the rent issue in this country gets fixed ASAP. Corporate greed and companies like Real page are at the heart of the problem. Really sorry. I saw crazy rent hikes here in AZ too. I will do the best I can to support your efforts and will check out the shop. Horror Haiku Club has been a blast!
Changes come with fall. Rent relief is nothing new. A room with a view of what? A wall flower brick pattern next door? My rental room is what I can afford. A roof overhead, a bathroom and kitchen to use, I just need to cut and water plants the mow and blow doesnβt do. I appreciate your dilemma. Be positive and demand good vibrations your way. Haikus like a dove world say. Peace over the holidays.
I'll be going back and using older prompts to keep going - I appreciate the work you've done to inspire us out here who need a bit of a kick to get the creativity flowing.
Sorry to hear this (and for shitty landlords π ) but totally understand and glad you're doing what's best for you! I'll miss your prompts--maybe I'll just start working my way backwards!
So sorry to hear that. I hope you can get everything sorted out soon, and find a new place to live where you'll be comfortable and happy. I only discovered these prompts a few months ago, but I've thoroughly enjoyed taking part every day. You did such an amazing job with them, and I often learnt new things through them! Good luck to you with your other writing and with all the things you do in the future... π
You have my sympathies, HG. More or less in the same situation here, and too busy to get to a writing quality that Iβd consider asking money for. Iβm sorry to see the haikuβs go but I understand. Youβve done a hell of a job for us horror fiends thus far. Please know that as soon as Iβm gainfully employed again (hopefully by yearβs end), I will do my part to support your writing. Kinda death-marching it here atm.

Thank you so much!! Iβll still be around, probably posting more weird things on notes than I used toπ
I am amazed at how much good knowledge you added into those Haikus.
I totally understand your decision.
Keep going with everything else and I'll check out the Etsy shop
Aw thank you!! I appreciate the support!

I had fun and will definitely miss it and you for creating such a sweet spot on a big Substack where I felt overwhelmed !
You will be missed but I wish you the best and hope you find a good place to be. May God bless and keep you, dear!

I hope one day this project returns.

That's good - at least I won't have to worry about not having something to write about!
Well, I am gutted. Your rent situation is deplorable and having to stop this wonderful project is so disappointing for all of us.
You have my sympathy and support. π©·
π Thank you so much for your support, it means so much to meπ€
Oh, no! Sorry to hear...
Ugh itβs a huge bummer, Iβm really going to miss HHCπ
Yeah, me too...
Honeygloom says bye
Weβre all gonna heave and sigh
But rent is due nigh.

Iβm with you, itβs crazy! We have a rent control measure on the ballot here this year, hope it does some goodπ€
