My haiku loving horror fiends, I have an announcement. As I posted in notes yesterday I received notice of a huge rent increase at my apartment. To be blunt, I can’t afford it. And California does not offer a lot of options where housing is concerned. Moving will cost more money than I have on hand, and a cheaper apartment… well let’s just say I’m in the safest, cheapest place I can be in.
I’ve thought about other options over the past day, I slept on it, but I do think that shuttering the Horror Haiku Club is my only option at this time. HHC is a huge time commitment and I need to refocus that energy on my Etsy shop and on my paid writing to help cover the rent increase. If you want to check out my Etsy shop, it is also called Honeygloom.
I wanted to let you know officially through a post, but more than anything, I wanted to thank you. You’ve all made HHC such a delight and I’ve met so many wonderful and brilliant creators and readers over the past year. I still have HHC posts scheduled through the 10/13, so I hope you’ll enjoy them! I will try and hop into comments as much as I can, but unfortunately the clock is ticking for me😅
And I wanted to remind you that Honeygloom is not going anywhere! I’ll still be publishing 100% Plant-Based Horror, as well as horror flash, poetry, and the tribulations of August!
In fact, I have a new Macabre Monday flash piece already scheduled for every Monday this month as well as a new Halloween flash piece planned. And I’ll be participating in a special group project in November that I’m very excited about.
Here’s a sneak peek of tomorrow’s haunting tale… hot tip, it has audio😱
See you around👻
So sorry to hear about your rent! Your post is like a staple on the Stack for me. Keeping you in my thoughts and sending good wishes your way. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🫶🏼✨
I am amazed at how much good knowledge you added into those Haikus.
I totally understand your decision.
Keep going with everything else and I'll check out the Etsy shop
