Split flesh
A gruesome grin
Crimson
Saliva flows
Wounded
The flow of death
Between your fingers
Sticky slick blood
Satiny, oh, so soft
Static at the edges
Growing, fading
Racing, your heart,
Beating against its prison
Spreads the infection
Faster
I opened a vein
Let them in
I feel them crawling
Replicating
Replacing
No longer
Me
Sucking the blood
Of the world
The old men live
Forever
Your fingers find the teeth embedded in your scalp and scratch the itch.
The inflamed skin around the canines soothed. It does’t hurt, like it did
At first. Twin siphons dipping into your brain. Always sucking but never
Satiating the withered body they’re attached to. What it’s feeding on
You don’t know, all you know
Is the itch
Hot and thick
Red Sauce, your kind
Calls it. As if you could
Feast on any other fluid
Tight throated thirst
Grips me at the rot scented
Air. Six feet of earth, and pine
Armor lie between us.
Darling, a fathom
And a kraken couldn’t keep me
From you.
A medical marvel
With a ring of barbed teeth
Step right up folks!
Find balance
With a leech!
You have too much
Let me lighten your step
Make your head swim
Forgotten limbs fall aside
Just another mouthful
You’ll float from this heavy life
What do you see?
-Blood, a fine spray, arterial
But what do you see?
-An ending, swift and terrible.
Was it one of them?
-No, one of us.
White walls
Red polka dots.
Do you like it?
She asks. He licks
The wall.
