I will never look at Mistletoe the same way again. Absolutely ghoulish.

Just trying to raise public awareness👍

I wondered how you'd work plants into "Ten Lords a-leaping!"😂

Honeygloom's avatar

Mistletoe!! Although there is quite a lot of greenery associated with the holidays. But mistletoe is my favorite🖤

Mistletoe is a good one.

I've heard holly berries have a laxative effect...not quite what one looks for in a horror story even if the results might be horrific...😂

I can't tell if I'm shivering from the content or how cold the story makes me feel by description of the weather alone.

Honeygloom's avatar

Aw thanks! Setting is a challenge for me sometimes, I’m glad it worked out ok ☺️

So that's what you wanted the research material on Spring-Heeled Jack for!

It was a wonderful story, winterish and ghastly, and of course a plant was at the bottom of it all along...

Honeygloom's avatar

Ha! Yeah, I really liked the image of Spring-Heeled Jack jumping around and terrorizing people. I’m glad you liked it!

It's a very powerful image in its grotesqueness, the combo of that Victorian-era freak with ancient nature/folk beliefs in a modern noir setting is a delicious mashup.

Phenomenal. Love the imagery of a too tall figure appearing in a window. The ending too was great

Thank you so much 😊

Way to keep the momentum up. Tight take on a hardboiled nightmare with some holiday flair. Fuckin' love it. Moved like I wanted it to, great voice, solid imagery, intact interiority. Yeah, fuckin' dig this one, especially the fatalist ending.

Honeygloom's avatar

Oh man, thank you! 🙏

Story definitely passed all my acid tests. Fuckin’ dope one.

In my mind, these lords look a little like the baby-alien at the end of Alien: Romulus. 😳 Scary. haha

Honeygloom's avatar

Ooo yeah, that thing was 😬 Imagine it in a top hat.

Liz Zimmers's avatar

Wow! Fantastic! Much as I love them, I’ve always been wary of oaks. I’ll be more attentive to any signs of mistletoe!

Honeygloom's avatar

Ha! Thank you! 😊

The Lords and their legs, the killer mistletoe. The dark holiday vibe. Loved this mystery and how you tied up so neatly in a bow. RIP Fenn - at least for another century.

I’m so glad you liked it!

I can only sing.

Here comes mistletoe

Here comes mistletoe

Dashing through the snow.

Berries bouncing

Bells a- ringing to the tombstone

Chime. “Come all ye faithful”

Come to book reservations

To boot hill.

Honeygloom you lead us to kindly to kiss underneath the mistletoe.
