Olives are amazing; I remember Olive Drive in Davis with olives growing all along the street on both sides. I always wanted to pick and brine them when I was there.😂

It's too cold for olives here in New Mexico but if I could I'd grow some. They're weeds in the right climate and the wood is beautiful for accent work or small crafty things.

Russian olives are considered invasive, right? I think they’re so pretty, I’ve been trying to get one to grow from seed but can’t get it right. Which is funny because they’re everywhere.

Out here Russion olives are considered invasive; I don't know about other states. They're a fairly common ornamental everywhere, though.

Lots of plants that are quite hardy are hard to start from seed. I'm not much of a gardener so for me growing a tree from seed is next to impossible. I try to dig up seedlings if I want to grow something!😂

I have a little Thuja that I grew from seed. It’s only three inches tall and I’ve had it for two years, but it’s so cute. At some point I’ll have to put it outside. I’ve sprouted camphor, but then they die, I’m going to try again over the winter with a heated seed mat I think. Pittosporum I’ve found pretty easy to grow from seed though. I’ve also got a Ficus virens and a Ficus religiosa from seed. Ficus are beasts😂 It’s hard to keep them from growing.

I had to look up Pittosporum. I wish I could grow figs here; I had a fresh fig once and I don't think I've ever had a more delicious fruit!
