Bag of bright bright blood, burst -

the sun glints on the crystals mounting

eye gel turned to twin diamonds

Careful not to confuse negative pressure in the cosmological sense, which may or may not be a facet of dark energy pushing the cosmos outward, with the thing we're talking about here which is simply regular pressure working as normal (though with very negative consequences for our squishy pressurised body).

Oh by the way, eye gel turning into diamonds? Wow 🤩

Thanks I do my gruesome best.

Oh man, so researching negative pressure was actually harder than I expected. It turns out to be a bit of a debate across fields. For example, I had always known the mechanism that pulls liquid up a tree’s trunk from the ground as negative pressure, but apparently that term causes agitation in other fields.

Eventually I just went with negative pressure because some sources did use the term, and I couldn’t find a suitable alternative.

This article was interesting and interesting foray into the controversy.

It's a bloody complex topic that's for sure - mixed up with dark energy, that does exist but might well not be energy at all, and with quintessence, which sounds esoteric and magical and probably is.

Most regular or "normie" physicists spit at the mention of negative pressure and quintessence, but they're also completely stuck, and normies never make radical breakthroughs. For that you need weirdos like Einstein, Bohr, Pauli (top class physics-magic weirdo) and Dirac.

Those guys are on another level, definitely. I wish I had more time in my day for really getting into all this bonkers physics, but… I spend too much time on botany. Maybe I need to get into astrobotany….

• Daily pressure mounts,

Expectations press too close—

Who’s really to blame?

• Words twist and compress,

The weight of should-have-been’s there—

Pressure never stops.

• Silent stare cuts deep,

Expectations suffocate—

Fear, an unseen hand.

• Pressure to conform,

Air thick with everyone’s needs—

Self crushed into dust.

• Expectations press,

The weight of a thousand hopes—

Cracks in the mirror.

• Love squeezed too tightly,

Air forced from a fragile chest—

Affection’s cruel grip.

Ha! Hey it just might work!

When Joe Kittinger made the (then) highest parachute jump from the stratosphere in 1960 (from more than 100,000 feet) the seal on one of his gloves was bad and his hand swelled up to twice its normal size. He was on weather balloon do there was nothing else to do but go on with the mission!😂

If too much pressure,

Is exerted, the effects,

Will be mind-blowing... 😎

Ha! Genius… and gruesome🖤

Thanks! It's always fun when you can slip a double meaning in somewhere. Haha... 😎
