I’m thinking not especially the folks pushing for the new gods tended to burn the proponents of the old ones at the stake and such! Ones loyal to the old ones had to go underground!
Good point! Cultures overlying cultures rarely did so peacefully from most things I’ve read though. It would be interesting to see which ones and under what circumstances the ones who made peaceful transitions were able to do so- maybe it would give us all some pointers on how to navigate sweeping changes in our belief systems. Thanks for that comment, Honeygloom, now I have an interesting new research topic! 🥰🫶🏼
Nice!! I love this, it’s like Hades’ official met Persephone at the gates instead of him going himself. It indirectly makes him seem like a jerk, which he is. Very cool🖤
Veins of ash and dust
Rising in a crimson dawn
Gods reclaim their throne
This is epic, what a great image🖤
Weep for those that fell
Into oblivion’s well
What new gods are these!?
That’s a curious thought, did people mourn lost gods? Very thought provoking🖤

It wasn’t always like that, when the old Roman pantheon was replaced by the Greek, that was gradual. I wonder how people felt then.

Persephone, the uncle-abused
reveals her underground truth
that life is not life, death not death
Life is a slow death, death is rebirth?
That's the mystery as revealed to me at Eleusis - but I've said too much
Gods stumble and fall,
But we keep lighting candles—
Old habits die hard.
.
Laughing from the grave,
They return with the same lies—
We nod, none the wiser.
.
Resurrection's cheap,
A trick they pull every year—
We're all in on it.
.
Gods fall like pennies,
Yet somehow, they flip back up—
Heads, we lose again.
.
We watch them tumble,
Rise from the dust, shrug, and grin—
Same show, new tickets.
.
Altars grow dusty,
Yet we still clap when they rise—
It’s all for the crowd.
I love this, so cynical and dark🖤
Resurrection wills
As earth and man wintered on
Christ the Lord comes soon
Nicely apocalyptic, well done🖤
Sacrificed animals entrails
Seaweed tossed onto blood 🩸
Green Snake seeds rise to replenish Earth. .
It would with all that fertilizer🖤
“Where haven’t I been?”
She laughs as wet green shoots wrap
Grateful round one leg
I love this so much🖤 I can just see this scene in my head, so good!
The first myth written...
Innanna and Dumuzi.
Goddess slays the god...
Hey she felt bad later😌 😂 I love the Sumerian myths🖤
Sacrifice for renewal…
"Time for Spring! Awake,
Persephone! Please return!"
..."Five more minutes, Mom."
Ooof, me every morning, too.🥱
😂 Teens were always the same...
For sky high I rise
Hands almost reach that azure
Mire sucks me back down
Nice! There’s a whole story waiting to happen here, I love it🖤
Parted from her glow,
We mourned, for nothing would grow,
Till her new life dawned... 😎
Very lovely! Well done🖤
Thanks! 😎👍
Hades welcomes you
as you toil here none shall grow
until you return.

End of spring, sadness
Now underworld dead above
Cyclical return
Again this one was a challenge! I love a challenge, however not the best lol
Oh nice! From the underworld’s perspective? That’s cool🖤
Hades welcomes you
as you toil here crops won't grow
until you return.
