Bringing our harvest month into the modern era, the combine is a tractor designed to harvest several types of crops. It is called a combine because it combines the processes of reaping, gathering, and threshing.

Combines, like all modern harvesting equipment save countless hours of labor, but they’re also extremely dangerous. The combine above has a reel made up of several steel teeth that help slice up crops and uh, whatever else gets in the way. Modern machines may be faster, but they’re still dangerous. In fact, I have an uncle who lost a hand to a potato digging machine.
