On a more serious note - given the number of galaxies and stars in the universe it seems statistically likely a planet compatible with life as we know it exists.
At least it offers a possible alternative setting to science fiction writers so they won't always be writing about Mars or Venus. They were both thought to be habitable at one time as well, but, in fact, Venus, at least, is not.
