Away, away now

Leave this being there sleeping

Morrow yet to come

I love the tone of this🖤 It’s almost gentle, but of course, isn’t at its roots.

I love your newsletter, and read each issue, though I rarely comment. But today’s prompt sparked a special memory. Several years ago, I published a collection of about 500 horror haiku. That project was kicked off with this poem about astral projection:

Lost on astral plane

without GPS, how can

I find my way home?

🤯Thank you for reading! I always read yours too, but I worry real poets will hate me for messing up haiku 🫣 You don’t even know how happy you just made me🥲

This is the exact reason I’ve never tried to astral project. I’m skeptical but IF it worked, I would definitely get lost. I love it🖤

You are very much a real poet! I do think many poets take poetry way too seriously. I love the idea of genre poetry (like horror haiku!) I also have a half finished sci-fi haiku manuscript hanging around that's waiting for me to finish up some other projects.

Thank you 😊 I always kind of see poetry as the rebel’s medium.

Sci-fi haiku sounds amazing. I would love to read it!

Interesting, I’ve heard of those but haven’t ever really looked into them. With my limited understanding I would say that makes sense, without your body something like that would be easier to follow.

That’s the question isn’t it? Is the soul tied to consciousness? Is there a soul?

Oh, I did a rough count. I think I've hit more than 100! contributions now for this Horror Haiku Club, including ones I didn't post here, but my brain was jogged here.

So thanks to the 'gloom Stack for helping to keep those creative muscles toned...
