September 1 - Reaping
Reap the rewards.
Eyes dimmed by age.
See the sorrow sown.
Lovely and poignant, well done🖤
This harvest is grim
the reaper comes from within
winter will bring death
Ooo nice! That middle line is brutal🖤
Come… Harvest with us
he who walks behind the rows
waits in September
Nice!! Love that movie🖤
Do not be fooled, child.
The reaping demands our all,
No matter what we've sown.
Ooo nice! I love the implicit threat🖤
Thanks!

Golden crowns tarnish,
Power’s edge meets autumn’s end—
Silence fills the court.
Courtiers whisper,
Shadows lengthen on his throne—
The lion grows weak.
Faith turns to despair,
Wings of treachery unfold—
Reapers close in fast.
Once a mighty king,
Now a sickle in the hand—
Blood and crowns fall down.
Misty dawn of death,
Kingdom waits with bated breath—
Tudor’s time decays.
Frost chills royal halls,
Throne now cold, his reign is done—
Silence echoes long.
Senryū
Eyes meet in the court,
Words unspoken, fear runs deep—
Reaping kingly pride.
Royal bed grows cold,
But not as cold as power lost—
Heads bent, necks exposed.
Whispers of revolt,
Secrets buried in dark rooms—
Reapers circle near.
Promises once sworn,
Now broken like his strong will—
Reapers count their gains.
Silent fall from grace,
Words of loyalty now gone—
Crown slips from his grasp.
Autumn winds reveal,
Truths hidden behind the veil—
Reaping Tudor’s fall.
Ah Henry, so pathetic. These really capture his reign quite well🖤
Wonderful interpretation! 😎
Raise the scythe higher
This reaping is of them all
Time to forgive, gone
Oh wow! This is so brutal, I love it🖤
Thank you! I love that you think it's brutal! 🖤
Planted bed of okra
Thought for sure I would get some
A bug reaped my bounty
Noooo!!! That’s the worst😭
Ha! That was my squashes this year! My condolences!
Thanks !
Planted 3 seed packs and watched them disappear day by day.
The horror! Lol!
I got squash bugs; they suck the water out of the plants! I was watering every day and the plants kept shriveling and finally my wife said, "Aren't you spraying them with citronella?" So my bad...
Reapers in the field -
one stands taller, staring.
What does he want of me?
Probably your liver😜 Nice one🖤
This is the season
Of empty fields, full bellies,
Hungry invaders.
Ah nice! I love ‘hungry invaders’, such an interesting description🖤
Half our crops had been,
Flattened down, and used to form,
Patterns on the ground.

They called it a hoax,
But they didn't see, the lights,
That hovered around... 😎
Ha! Keeping the space theme alive👽 Nice!
Absolutely! In true sci-fi fashion, it's returned for a sequel! Haha... 👽😎👽
The reaper of gourds
Takes all the Jack-O-Lanterns;
Every head is his.
What!? I want The Reaper of Gourds to be real so bad! I love this🖤
Bringing in the sheaves
that other hands have sown. Where
have the others gone?
Beautifully eerie, well done🖤
The full ripened heads
Nod gently in the autumn
Before the scythe comes
Beautiful! So much kinetic potential, very nice🖤
