Yeah, I always have mixed feelings about zoos. It’s the only way most people will see such incredible animals, which is helpful in a conservation context, and they’re all captive bred (which has pros and cons), but gods what a sad life it must be.
Yes. It is so sad to see the big mammals pacing in their restricted environments. I know they're doing extraordinary conservation work—saving species on the brink of extinction—but, sadly, it's one of the only ways to save these species.
