I love the twisting this story does: how you offer (and remind us of) the real magic of good deeds ... and then, when that's a disappointment to the pathetic "my way or I'm unhappy" client , you give her what she thinks she wants ... and a lesson is learned. (And it still turns into a (dark) happy ending.

When in doubt have a mass killing with the suggestion of total societal transformation, I always say.
Could be expanded to novella length and beyond, but of course that's true of all your short pieces. (Just an observation not a call to action)
