So yesterday was fun. It took me all day to calm August down. He kept looking at the little stump that was once a finger and wailing. Hellbunny was happy though, after he devoured the ghost finger he napped all day.
“It’s the same this morning.” August pointed the nub at me, it was a grayish pink meat ring with a bone center.
“It's really fascinating, don’t you think? That Hellbuny could turn you solid just so he could eat you?” I tried to grab August’s hand, but of course, my hand went right through his.
“I’m not amused. And I’m never touching that rodent again.”
“Lagomorph, not rodent.”
“Who cares. What’s my card for today?”
“The Four of Pentacles reversed.” I showed it to him, he rubbed his chin with his good hand.
“Hmmm. What do you think?”
“Are you afraid of anything?”
“Of course not, I’m a man, I don’t fear things.”
“Well, this card says you’re holding on to fear of something.” I watched him battle with himself, the waring emotions flickered across his face. Hellbunny chuckled in his cage. We both looked over at him, he was laughing and smiling, his little black nose twitched, then he flopped down and went to sleep. August’s eyes met mine, and then he disappeared.
I love these so much. For some reason I pictured August as Don Knotts in this one.
