August and I have agreed not to speak of the last two days. Suffice it to say that Hellbunny developed a taste for sparrows and may have given a neighbor rabies. But Hellbunny is safely locked up now and I’m a new regular at the pet shop for feeder mice. I dread the day they ask me why I need so many. I may need to start rotating stores….
Today though. Today I drew the Ace of Swords reversed for August. It’s clearly a warning for him, he needs to stop getting distracted and get to Hell to be with Evelyn. It’s his proper place in the world. It’s where he belongs. Also I’m losing my fucking mind.
“No, I’m just a little burnt out I think,” August said when I showed him the card. He’s gone back to wearing his jacket around the house, he chose black tweed today. He looked like a goth rockstar, lounging on the sofa in my office, staring wistfully at the ceiling.
“From what?”
“I don’t know, unlife, I guess.”
“How extra.”
“Oh, just die.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
This is unlife.
