I drew the High Priestess for August this morning, but he didn’t want to talk about it because he went to seance with some ghost friends and he’s giddy. I can’t decide if what they do is sad or funny. They gather round the seance holders and pull the standard list of pranks, moving tables, flickering candles, knocking, stuff that won’t get them too much attention, but still titillates the audience. On one hand, I wish he wouldn’t tease people. On the other, the ghosts are just giving these people what they want, which, when it it’s all said and done, is a good time. I asked him about the light that whoever leads the seance says to walk towards at the end. He said if a regular human ever made that light appear, he’d know something was “out of order”. I think that’s a British-ism. I guess the living can’t send ghosts to Heaven (or wherever the light leads). Go figure. August promised to meditate on the High Priestess. I think he was joking.
